Right now Garmarna (swedish electric folk) are playing 'Vedergällningen' ('Vengeance'). After that we're having 'Roseblood' by Mazzy Star( ) en after thàt CRANES (jawel) with 'Sunrise' and Michael J Sheehy + Ali with 'Dark Country Moment'!

I forgot that they collaborated. How is this song? Are there others, or just the one?
Lately I've been listening obsessively to The Magnetic Fields and other Stephin Merritt bands.
Also, The Caulfield Sisters are really great. Check them out. |

Thanks to this newsgroup i bought Air's Cherry blossom girl Ep. The Hope sandoval version of the song is really good. This girl is gifted. Thanks for the tip Quendin.

'Dark Country Moments' is really ( and regretfully) the only thing they did together and is to be found on Michael's superbé CD 'No longer my concern'. Michael J sheehy is the former singer of 'Dream city Film Club', a band with a really stunning sound, going from (mistakenly) soft to hard and uncompromising but always cynical and kicking ass...
Michael's 3 solo-albums are even greater (more intimate I must say) and not less cynical. I have to state that is first solo, 'Sweet Blue Gene', is one of the most thrilling things I ever heard, and the other 2 are fabulous either!!!
On topic: right now I have 'Ghost Opera' from Tan Dun + Kronos Quartet in the stereo... _________________ "You must be ABLE to say everything there is to say about it, but you don't HAVE to say it 'cause it's not important..." (Marguerite Yourcenar) |

Dead can dance live in The Hague.
A great double cd of a gig that I have seen as well.
Amazing sound that captures the magic of the show !
Recommended to all Cranes fans. |

Let us know where to get it then!
I'd love to hear that. Is that from the reunion tour ?

Yes, you could order it after the concert.
I don't know if there are any left.

It was really a magical show, and you can hear it on the recording too.
It's a double cd. |

too bad they are all gone. I didnt know about the shows being recorded. I missed the tour cause they didnt play near my place. I have heard so many live recordings from previous tour (mostly bad recordings). It's a very good idea because each show is so different from the albums versions.
Lucky you!

Well, it was not close to home for me either (200 km), but it was worth the 250 € trip. _________________ Now I'm ready to receive the new mind. |

Let's say they didnt even play in my country, switzerland (and they never did, i wonder why). I'm used to drive a lot to go to gigs but i couldnt move abroad for these shows.
Hopefully, i have the boxset with the live dvd (Toward the Within). But since i saw it, i want to want them much more.

I saw them...they were pretty wonderful. Was the first time I'd had a chance and didn't expect it to be so good. |

I noticed they played some kind of greatest hits. I dont think they played my favorite track (host of the seraphim) but i know i missed something. They have a special relationship with france and netherlands. One day i'll travel 700 kmh to see them (if they dont break up again).

I had my fingers crossed for Enigma of the Absolute but no such luck. I saw them in The Hague btw. |

I saw them in The Hague, and the week after that in Brussels, but the The Hague gig was better !
Pure magic ! One of the best concerts I've ever seen ! _________________ Now I'm ready to receive the new mind. |
