first, hello everyone - what a nice website and forum this is.
i have a little problem and i hope anyone could help out. i found robert smiths peel radio session from last year (he sat in for peel who was on holiday) where he also played a special version of jewel. it sounds much more like a cure song than the version on forever (which i bought blindly after listening to the song), has some nice guitar solos and is overall a bit more "rock". i found out that robert smith did a remix of jewel, so maybe this is the song i'm looking for?
does anybody know where to buy this version or could any kind soul provide it for me?
thanks a lot

Hi there Chris...
I'm quite curious about that version of Jewel that Robert Smith played on the peel radio session too...
Anyway, the remix you're talking about also sounds like a Cure song and has a great mood... It's actually the version that was on the videoclip, promoting the Forever album. But the album version wasn't the same as the videoclip one.
The version you're looking for was only available on the cd-single of jewel. It was described as Jewel 12" mix, re-mixed by robert smith and bryan "chuk" new (at least it's the version I own and I guess the one you're looking for...) I don't know if it's still available over the internet or not, i guess it's officially sold out, but maybe you can get a used copy somewhere... don't know
Best of luck to you _________________ ___________________________________

It's pretty easy to get online, i think - I see it everywhere. And yeah, that's the version you're looking for but mainly it's just labelled as Jewel (Robert Smith mix) or something along those lines. If i find somewhere to get it, I'll post here. |

I've got it! It's on the 3 x 7" box-set of Jewel.
I'm in process of converting my vinyl to CD
Email me your address & I'll post you a copy
