Too much to choose from...
But i was able to narrow it down to these five:
-Cloudless
-K56
-Driving in the sun
-Particles and Waves
-Adoration

hmmm... ack...
tomorrow's tears (yeah, it was the pop song, but such an elegantly simple one)
ah hell can i count all of "wings of joy" as one song?
lilies
adrift
beautiful friend
shining road
cloudless
angel bell
can't really comment on "particles & waves" as the copy that i ordered from the site right when it first came out sadly went missing within the space of a week & i haven't had the chance (e.g. money) to order a new one... though i do still have the case laying around, silently mocking me. _________________ ____________________________

so so so surprised no one has mentioned Starblood.
Everywhere is special because it was the first Cranes song I ever heard.
But my favourites remain Starblood, Tangled Up, Dada 331, Focus Breathe, and Shining Road. _________________ Just don't worry-- I'll be fine. |

This is an impossible question to answer...there is no "single" song, we all know that. Still, a list: Starblood
Adrift
Cloudless
Adoration
September
Shine Like Stars
Underwater

They also did september in brussels (93 or 94). It's a shame it's not played anymore! I have secretly wished they played it at concert. Maybe i should have screamed it at the top of my lung...(but i dont like who do that).
I have a vhs with the brussels performance and i encoded the september part. The size is between 50 Mo and 100 Mo so if anyone could host it, it would be better. Otherwise, i dont mind burning a few cdrs for those interested.
Alex
PS: funny how everyone has a different favorite
PS: i remember a pool years ago where adoration ended first at the same question. _________________ as the water flows over the bridge

From the early period: 'DADA 331' (that sound!!) and 'Brighter' (that drive!!) and more recently 'The Universe is ours' and 'Sunrise' with 'Reverie', 'Leaves of summer' and 'Rainbows' sandwiched within... _________________ "You must be ABLE to say everything there is to say about it, but you don't HAVE to say it 'cause it's not important..." Not an easy question... It has been "Adoration" for years but for now I should answer "Sunrise".
btw: would be much easier to name the track I dislike the most _________________ The advantage of a bad memory is that one enjoys several times the same good things for the first time. |

No problem, I don't like: "Every Town". It is the only song from Cranes I don't like, I think it's because of Jim singing alone... The song itself isn't bad at all.
In the "Stalk" song, I have no problem with Jim's voice. Maybe because at the end Alison is doing some backing vocals.

Hmm, I was just telling my bf that I like "Every Town" more than I like "Stalk" (which I also like a lot). It's interesting how different his voice sounds on each song - it doesn't even sound like the same person. I'd like to hear more from him, although I'm still getting used to hearing a male voice in Cranes. Perhaps a side project? |

For me it's Adoration - one of the most beautiful songs ever written
Runner ups:
Starblood live - they never play that anymore
Casa Blanca
Leaves of summer
