Ok, thanks.
Now listening to Tori Amos, especially the songs she didn't play at yesterdays gig in Brussels (Vorst).
The gig wasn't as good as I hoped. _________________ Now I'm ready to receive the new mind. |

'Spiralling' from Antony and the Johnsons' breaktrough-album 'I am a Bird now'... Antony deserves every inch attention with this album, for it is really stunning and full of strange beauty.
I'm following this man's music from the beginning (2000) and I recommend his work to everyone of you!!! _________________ "You must be ABLE to say everything there is to say about it, but you don't HAVE to say it 'cause it's not important..." (Marguerite Yourcenar) |

I saw her earlier this year and I was pretty disappointed as well. I was more interested in the covers than in her songs. I think whatever I once liked about her is gone now. She just seems so redundant now. |

Swans - anonymous bodies in an empty room.
A great live cd from their 1989 tour. Very intense. _________________ Now I'm ready to receive the new mind. |

I have a few Swans albums and I like them a lot. I'd like to hear more of them. Jarboe played here a couple of times fairly recently, but it is always late at night on a weeknight which makes it really difficult for me to attend. |

As far as I know Jarboe hasn't played here the past few years.
She did play in Greece, but that's too far.
I prefer Michael Gira to Jarboe, although she's very special and talented too.
I've like 120 Swans (and related ) cd's, lp's and 30 magazines, posters, pictures, promo pics ....
I prefer their 1987 - 1993 stuff, their best period.
I spoke to Michael Gira last week, and he's a very special charismatic person. _________________ Now I'm ready to receive the new mind. |

I know what you mean. I used to think the same about her covers being better than her own songs. But i must say that Scarlet's was a great album, with lots of strong material. It's a shame that her new recording is so bad. I didnt see her on the actual tour but i'd love to anyway

There were some songs I really enjoyed on that album, but there were also others that I dislike tremedously (that Sangria song - wtf?!). But overall there is just something missing for me now. The best I can explain it is that I just don't believe her anymore. It doesn't seem real anymore. Does that make sense? |

Yes.
But that's the way it goes with most artists/bands. _________________ Now I'm ready to receive the new mind. |

Very true. Luckily it has not happened with Cranes! |

Right now the selftitled debut (1968) from Pentangle, heavenly jazzfolky stuff. Just heard the excellent 'Pentangling', but my absolute fav one of this album is 'Let no one steal your thyme'; a warning song to all girls to keep an eye on their herbal anticonceptiva...
Owww yes: one of the two guitarists is the infamous Bert Jansch, who played on Hope Sandoval's 'Bavarian Fruit Bread'. Hope sings 'All that Remains' on one of the latest Bert Jansch albums... _________________ "You must be ABLE to say everything there is to say about it, but you don't HAVE to say it 'cause it's not important..." I discovered a record called Let it Die by Feist
I saw her live two weeks ago, was really good
check these tracks:
Feist - Inside and out
Feist - Mushaboom
Fesit - One evening
I also bought the new goldfrapp ep. It's wicked as usual. _________________ as the water flows over the bridge
